lanya is an attractive town, located on a small rocky peninsula, surrounded on the north by the Taurus mountains and in the south by the Mediterranean Sea. It is famous for its history, tourism, its beatifull beaches and bewitching natural beauty.

      n ancient times Alanya was incorporated within the borders of either Pamphylia or Cilicia, therefore it was cited sometimes among Cilician and sometimes among Pamphylian towns. Today, from the geographical point of view, its place is within the borders of the Mediterranean region. The peninsula on which it is located reaches the point where the Taurus mountains come closest to the sea.

      he town can be reached by a  well constructed highway from Antalya, surrounded by a rich flora, hothouses and  grenery on both sides. After Alanya, the highway continues along to Anamur and  Mersin with ancient cities and historical sites on both sides. It gives one the  impression of going on a journey in history.

On climbing up the  Taurus mountains, one comes across careb beans myrthle, sandalwood and still  further up, near to the peak, the mountains and slopes are covered with redpine,  blackpine, oak and cedar trees.
